For 2 - 4 year olds
Dear Children..............
This page is to show you what it will be like if you come along to playgroup.
You can have a look with a grown up and then you will know what to expect when you arrive.
One of these ladies will be your 'key worker'. All of the ladies in bright aprons are there to look after you, but one of them will keep a special eye on you to make sure you are happy and having fun.
When you arrive at Little fishes, you will wait with your grown up here
You will hang up your coat and put your bag on the trolleys
Then you will go into our room where there will be lots of toys for you to play with
We will stop for a little while to sit together in our circle.
We will take the register to see who is there and we may share any news we have.
Each day Talking Ted will be there to tell us what we will be doing.
then back to playing!
You can sit in the quiet area and look at books
or do some art and craft activities
You might want to play in the home corner. Sometimes this is a shop or a hospital, fire station, hairdressers's salon, library, cafe, mechanic's garage, vet's surgery, garden centre - it can be all sorts of things!
We love to dress up!
We love getting messy too!
We may do some cooking
After we've been playing for a while we will have 'tidy up time' when everyone helps to put the toys away.
We have a timeline to remind us what we are going to do next
Then it's snack time.
Someone helps to prepare the fruit and vegetables while everyone else joins in with a group activity such as singing, story time or sharing news from home.
We then make sure our hands are really clean, sit around the tables and share the fruit and vegetables.
Everyone pours their own milk and water
After snack time we will do more playing.
We may enjoy some music....
dancing....
parachute games.....
learning on the laptop.
We always try and play outside for part of the session, in the playground.......
or in the garden......

We play in the hall each day too
At the end of the morning we meet in the circle once again and think about what we've done that day
then we do some singing while we wait for our special grown ups to come and collect us to go home.
And that's a typical day at Little Fishes Playgroup!
If you need the toilet while you're at Little Fishes you can use out little toilets
not forgetting to wash your hands afterwards, of course!
or use the potty or have your nappy changed
Sometimes at little Fishes, we have visitors who come in to show us things or tell us about their lives...........
We like to go for walks, or on outings; perhaps into the village........
the playground........
or the library.
And on special occasions we have parties or invite our families to come in to watch us celebrate festivals.
